Sub Focus

Sin lugar a dudas Sub Focus ha sido uno de los artistas que más ha triunfado dentro de la escena Drum and Bass desde que en 2003 editase su primer trabajo en el sello Frequency. Para algunos puede quedar lejos, hace casi diez años de eso, pero la carrera de este productor fue bastante rápida y uno de los últimos grandes fenómenos mediáticos dentro de la escena.
De nombre real Nick Douwma, su vida cambió cuando acudió a un bolo de Andy C (capo de la todopoderosa Ram Records) y le dió un CD con su música y su teléfono apuntado. Lo gracioso del caso es que al capo le gustó y cuando fue a llamarle se dio cuenta que Sub Focus había olvidado el último dígito, a sí que tuvo que hacer unas cuantas llamadas hasta hacerse con el.
Tuvo dos lanzamientos en Frequency (filial de Ram) hasta que dio el salto a Ram con el ya mítico "X-Ray-Scarecrow". Supongo que ayudó que estuviese incluido en el segundo volumen de la serie de CD Mixes de Andy C "Nightlife" cuando aún el tema de los rayos X no se había editado. Y ya que estamos aprovecho para decir que este segundo me parece el mejor trabajo de toda la serie de mixes de estudio del mejor dj de Drum & Bass del mundo (ya se que suena un poco duro pero es así).
A partir de aquí la carrera del inglés no ha hecho más que subir.
